LARRY REINHART
Fleeting Memory
24 x 40 / Oil on wood panel / Sold
The P-40 Warhawk was my all time favorite plane as a kid. I liked it better than any modern fighter jet or stealthy flying contraption around. This one was the cats meow. Back then, I only knew it as a Flying Tiger so I just had to depict a tiger in this painting. But I didn't want it to look like a random tiger was just walking across the tarmac. The tiger is meant to allude to the mystery and strength of the squadron of men who flew these planes. I wanted the tiger to feel like a fleeting memory of what was once so.
